Getting access

PENRA Courses is open to two kinds of user: registered users (usually with an NHS email address) and external exam candidates who sign in with a candidate ID (CID) and passcode. Once you are signed in, the full walkthrough covers everything else. Not sure what the platform offers? See the Features page for a quick overview.

Registered users

For Peninsula trainees, supervisors and course organisers. Peninsula trainees are normally given access automatically; everyone else requests an account.

  1. Use Request NHS account and enter your name, NHS email address and a password.
  2. Follow the link in the verification email. If it does not arrive, use the resend verification page.
  3. An administrator approves the account. Once approved you can log in.
  4. Forgotten your password? Use the password reset link.

External candidates (CID)

If a course organiser has given you a candidate ID and passcode, you do not need a registered account.

  1. Go to CID login and enter your CID and passcode.
  2. Your CID opens a personal overview listing the exams, vivas and case collections assigned to you.
  3. Start an assigned item or return later to view results once they are published.
Lost your CID details? Use the “Need your CID details?” form on the CID login page. Your details are emailed to the address recorded against your CID.

Still stuck?

If your account has not been approved, or you have not received your CID, contact the course organiser or the platform administrator using the details on the About page. Once you are signed in, the glossary explains the terms used across the platform.
